SAND FLEA
- Shortboard -
DESCRIPTION
Always keep this thing in your car, and thank us later. The Sand Flea is a jumpy daily driver with enough float to enjoy a crappy lunch break session and enough hold to handle a surprise good-wave swell. A full outline with pulled-in tail corners means plenty of paddle power that can still handle tight turns with ease. Versatility and responsiveness with a sprinkle of forgiveness make this a great one-shortboard-quiver or an excellent addition to a collection that needs some balance.
Shaper's Notes:
A combination of a fuller outline with a pulled-in swallow tail provides a good balance of stability and hold with the right amount of snappy release when the section calls for it in a variety of conditions.

-
Moderate rocker offers minimal resistance to paddle and trim speed while opening up tight turn radius opportunities in anything a fun East Coast swell might throw at you.

-
Extra foam hidden along the centerline allows for good paddling float, so we can keep the foil of the 60/40 rails (transitioning to a hard edge in the tail) a little tighter for more lively responsiveness and drivey turns.

-
Single to double concave with slight vee through fins optimizes water flow for speed and provides smooth rail-to-rail transitions on this slightly wider tail shape.
