The Siren provides everything you need from a high-performance shortboard and eliminates everything unnecessary about those designed for the ocean. The rounded nose, flat deck, and wide center-point provides ample volume with minimal length – eliminating the longer lines that assist long ocean paddle-outs to optimize tighter and farther turn rotations on vertical wave faces by leveraging the curvy outline and late-flip rocker. In fast and hollow sections, water flows over the thin wings to hug the rounded tail outline for trust-worthy hold and precise speed control; from wide-point back when ignoring the wing, the Siren’s outline and rocker match that of our 6”-8” longer Beacon step-up model. As you initiate turns in open face, water is forced around the outline of the wing, forcing an early break off your rail for maximal snap release. I recommend riding a Siren 2”-6” shorter than your typical shortboard. While designed primarily for the pool, I can verify she’s a dream in the ocean as well, from waist-high to overhead.
